Q1. How do the SAS programmes work ?
The SAS programmes use music, speech and tones, administered through headphones, as a tool to reach and activate the two hemispheres of the brain. As sounds from the right ear go mainly to the left and sounds from the left ear mainly to the right side of the brain, it is possible to activate the brain in a co-ordinated manner.
Each programme contains many different elements, all combined into a single stereo soundscape. Movement of sound will promote inter-hemispheric connectivity, ear specific elements will strengthen specialised processing centres in the brain, brainwave and breathing rate entrainment signals will activate or relax the body and mind, phase shifting will promote ear dominance and time differentials will enhance the 40Hz brain synchronisation function.
Every sound element has many different variables that can be adjusted to suit the age and needs of each client. In total there are many millions of programme variations that can be sequenced to achieve optimal results.
Q2. How personalised is each SAS course ?
One of our experienced SAS Practitioners will personally review the information provided by you and will then design the most appropriate programmes and listening sequence to achieve optimal results. You can provide feedback whilst taking a SAS course and we will adjust the programmes if required. This highly personalised and effective approach is, to our knowledge, totally unique.
Q3. How easy is it to take a SAS course ?
The daily routine of the course is really easy as it does not require attention, following instructions or physical exercises and is therefore suitable for clients of all ages and abilities. By simply listening every day to the specially processed music, speech and tones through a pair of headphones the brain gets a healthy processing work-out.
Q4. Who can benefit from the SAS methodology ?
The wide range of intervention tools incorporated in every SAS programme allows us to design uniquely tailored courses that tackle the underlying causes of many different conditions and that unlock innate potential. We work with children with conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Dyslexia and Autism, but also see many adults who wish to boost their study or work achievement, strengthen their emotional well-being or support stroke recovery clients.
We have helped thousands of clients at our SAS Centres and via our online courses - from three year old children to elderly clients in their eighties, with a wide range of conditions or pursuing personal development goals. Please contact us to discuss your wishes with us.
Q5. What type of course is the best, at a clinic of a SAS Provider or Online ?
When visiting the clinic of an Accredited SAS Provider you will benefit from their specialised expertise, extensive experience and personal attention. This high level of support ensures optimal results in a short space of time.
If you do not live within easy reach of an Accredited SAS Provider, then you can take a SAS course at home. You first provide the SAS Provider with as much information as possible via an online questionnaire, email and/or telephone consultation. Your SAS Provider will then able to design a SAS course specifically aimed at your needs and wishes. Within days you will be able to start your course that will be provided via the internet. Your trained SAS Provider will guide and support you before, during and after the course to ensure you obtain the very best results.
Q6. How do I use an Online course ?
You can listen to the programmes through most computers, tablets or mobile phones that have internet access. You only need a pair of stereo headphones, ideally a full-sized model that cover the ears well. Each day we will prepare the correct programmes for you to listen to at your leisure at a time that suits you best.
To obtain similar results as at a SAS Centre or SAS Provider Clinic, it is important to organise a suitable space and time for the duration of the course. A clear structure and strict adherence to the daily sessions strengthens commitment and will enhance results. Before starting the course, plan ahead for the following weeks to ensure time can be found to complete the course with minimal disruption. It is better to wait before starting the course than having to interrupt the course half-way. Your SAS Provider will coach you along the way and will adjust the programmes during the course if required.
Q7. Is the methodology safe ?
The SAS courses use sound programmes applied through headphones and we recommend to keep the volume low. This totally non-invasive technique is therefore as safe as listening to your favourite music through headphones. We apply the method at a number of hospitals and clinics under the supervision and with full consent of medical doctors and neurologists.
Q8. I am worried that my child does not want to wear headphones.
Some children do not like the physical sensation of wearing headphones. This is not unusual and we encounter this often at our Centres. We have found that most children get used to it within the first hour, but it may require some determination. Allow your child to take the headphones off, but then put them back on again, firmly, but with love and a smile. If this really doesn't work, then play the programmes while they are asleep - this works equally well.
Q9. What results can I expect and how fast ?
The non-invasive and safe techniques used in the SAS courses can be very effective in triggering changes, but every person is unique and at a different developmental stage in their life and results will therefore vary from person to person. Sometimes improvements can be observed during the first few weeks, whilst for others changes may be more subtle and take longer. Improvements in inter-hemispheric synchronisation, sensory integration or language processing may take several months before they express themselves in changes in behaviour and ability. If required you can repeat a course after one month.
Q10. What is my next step ?
If you are interested in taking a SAS course, please contact your nearest SAS Centre or Provider - a chat costs nothing and will help you to make the right choice.
